My object was a piece of jewelry so thats why I did my necklace which I don't ever take it off. In this necklace there is a moon and star next to each other which presents my home, Turkey, with the symbols on it. I have been carrying this necklace with me since highschool, now its been 8 years and I always carried this necklace proudly. Moon and star are the most important symbols in Turkey, although it is also representing the sky, Ottomon Empire used star and moon motifs in each of their designs. The flag of Turkey has also a huge star and a moon centered on the flag. So this two symbols have a different values in my country.

I am reading your blog about your necklace, and I feel your love, pride and kinship towards your native country Turkey.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to know more about the purpose and your audience for your Turkish necklace. Are these necklaces readily available in your country? Why should a non-Turkish born person purchase this necklace? How would you get me to purchase this item based upon a postcard that you would send to me? What is the significance of the red, black, gold and blue on this card?
What medium did you use on this card?
What was your process?
I would like to see a bit more of the organization of your blog, so that I can learn more about your culture and more about how you work as an artisan.
